FireAnim micro-tutorial
Since it isn't too obvious how to use the "fireanim.scm" script, here's how I made the example:
- Create a new image, with transparent background
- Draw something (e.g. text)
- Make sure you have only one layer ("Merge visible layers", if neccessary), and no active selection.
- Run the script (Image-right-click / Script-Fu / Animators / Fire)
- The default parameters should work for most people. You may want to change the "number of frames", though, for a longer or shorter animation.
- Currently there might be a few "bugs" in the script, so you could end up having to erase the original layer afterwards. If so, it should appear on the bottom of the layer-stack. It's not visible, though.
- Convert to <Image>/Image/Indexed - the default parameters should do the trick.
- Run <Image>/Filters/Animation/Anim Playback to see if it looks OK.
- Save as GIF, and voila. :-)
